Asian peoples can squat like toddlers squat. Our friends were visiting and a most interesting discussion took place, on the subject of how most Asian people can squat easily. Our friend, Sean, not an Asian, attempted to show that non-Asians can Asian-squat as well.

Nope. That would be a work-out type squat. Asian squats are not work. They’re relaxing. Sean thinks perhaps only women can do them because they’re more flexible? V takes up the challenge on behalf of Asian men.

Look at Sean’s face – disbelief mingled with awe. “Those are some nice hip flexors there, V. But how is my squat any different? I mean, isn’t that what I look like?”

Nope. Not low enough. And here’s the rear view.

Oof. That’s a full six inches V has on Sean.

And the eagle has landed. Time to loosen up those hips.
EDIT: On researching the topic further, turns out it has do with flexibility in three areas – hips, knees and ankles. ANKLES! Who would have guessed those were the real key to making an Asian Squat happen. For more fun, google Asian Squat.
